​I love my job. I started teaching English to Chinese kids on-line almost two years ago. ​​I've taught over 2000 classes to over 400 students. I was already completely at ease with WFH before Covid started, so there was no transition for me. I had also loved subbing and had been a substitute teacher in the High School for almost 12 years. But this is the most fun I have ever had teaching. I teach one-on-one and we sing, talk, and sometimes move our bodies if the lesson calls for it.

The photo looks a little messy because I teach in the garage which has minimal heat, but in the summer I open the garage door wide and get all the summer smells and breezes. These days I get up at 4am to start teaching so I can never show the kids if it snows - which they all want to see. I keep lots of props handy and love my sit/stand desk. I just moved this old loveseat in and covered it with a quilt my mom made me. Now Kala can cozy up next to me and sleep 4 more hours while I finish off singing Jingle Bells with the last student of the day.
